The Center for Agile Technology (CAT) is an applied research unit, reporting to the Vice President for Research, at The University of Texas at Austin. CAT focuses on agile software technology through the research of complex system problems. By working closely with other University of Texas departments and laboratories, CAT transitions basic research to real-world applications.

BACKGROUND

The Center for Agile Technology (CAT) was founded by the University of Texas' Office of the Vice President of Research as an organization chartered to help customers manage incomplete specifications, unforeseen challenges and the quickening pace of technology evolution.

CAT incorporates the capabilities of the University of Texas at Austin to provide commercial, government and defense industry customers with unprecedented solutions drawn from the multi-disciplinary resources of a nationally-recognized organization.

CAT created the Applied Science and Technology Group (ASTG) to take advantage of innovative and promising technologies founded within the University of Texas at Austin and evolve those technologies into exciting solutions to solve industry research problems.

CAT is staffed by professional engineers and program managers who help customers navigate complex environments through pragmatic vision.
